SAFE BOATING COURSE GIVEN BY COAST GUARD AUXILIARY
Contributed by: Terry Barth, FSO-PA on 10/3/2009

Flotilla 58 will be offering this one-day course on Saturday, October 17th from 8:15 am to 5:00 pm at the Coast Guard Auxiliary Building at 1400 Seaway Drive in Fort Pierce.

This course is a "must do" for the new boater and an excellent refresher for experienced boaters. Whether you're at the helm or "part of the crew", you will learn valuable information that will enhance your boating experience. You'll learn waterway signs and markings, basic navigation, Federal and State regulations, boating in adverse conditions, what to do in an emergency and much, much more.

This Boating Safety Course is State approved to receive your Florida State Boater ID card. Remember, if you are under 22, you are required to have a Florida Boater card to operate a vessel. Also, check with your insurance company - some give a discount if you complete and pass this course.

The course is free, but there is a materials fee of $36.00 ($10 for each additional family member if sharing the book.

For more information call Joe at 772-461-3500 or
Gary at 772-321-3041.

See you in class!
