October 26, 2009 - Jerry Rogak, the renown potter whose recent exhibition at the Saint Lucie City Center Gallery drew crowds of enthusiasts from surrounding counties, will on November 14, 2009 offer a one day exhibit at the Saint Lucie West Cascades Clubhouse. This free exhibition will be open to the public but requires an entry pass which can be obtained by contacting Rogak at 772-344-1379.
In addition to a display of small crockery pieces and unique tabletop sculptures, the Cascades exhibition will feature a number of the large wall sculptures that were the highlight of the City Center and a trademark of Rogak's work.
According to Rogak, "The art of blending glazes to achieve a unique multi-layered effect is an experience that can sometimes dazzle even the potter himself. Every piece I create is one-of-a-kind. I apply layers of glaze, blending them to achieve a seamless flow of color into color; I know what I am looking to achieve but when I open the kiln after twenty-four to thirty-six hours, I find something even more amazing than I had envisioned."
Rogak, a master of his craft, is recognized for combining the grace of sculpture with an unprecedented layered effect of color. For more information on Rogak or the upcoming exhibition, contact: Jerry Rogak at 772-344-1379.
