Ft. Pierce has a new grill & bar that is located on the Ft. Pierce Inlet. The
On The Edge Bar & Grill is located at 1136 Seaway Dr. and is on the Dockside Inn property. The Tiki Bar opened on April 29th and has become a favorite spot for many locals. The Tiki faces the Ft. Pierce Inlet and during the day you can watch all the boats go by, see a school of dolphins playing in the water or even a few manatees. During the late afternoon and early evening it is the place to be to see an amazing sunset.
They have a very creative menu that Chef Dave calls Southern Comfort Food. I agree but, I think it has a little Cajun influence too. I grew up eating Fried Green Tomatoes but never with herbed goat cheese -- what a delight! He offers 4 Po' Boy sandwiches -- Oyster, Shrimp, Crawfish and catch of the day. The Orchid Island Clams have become a local favorite too. So has the Shrimp and Grits, Jambalaya and the Sanibelle -- gulf shrimp, crawfish and andouille sausage gravy over homemade sweet corn and jalapeno cornbread. One of my favorites is the crab and sweet corn cakes and a Key Lime aioli. They offer many other seafood dishes as well as a Black Angus burger, Black Angus Ribeye, salads and they also have a kids menu -- The10-A Buoy. Chef Dave buys all his seafood from local fishermen on a daily basis. And, don't forget to ask about his bread pudding -- it will melt in your mouth.
The
On The Edge Bar & Grill has quickly become a family eating place. If you come by boat there are slips designated for the Tiki Bar. Shirt and shoes are required but don't worry -- they have tables and chairs set up outside with big umbrellas so you can enjoy the food, drinks and the view.
The bar has a full selection of beer, mixed drinks and wine. The bar specialty is a Parrot Bay Punch served in a cute little sand bucket that you can take along when you leave. Also, check out their Happy Hour specials from 4 to 6pm Tuesday through Friday.
