The colorful mural on the outside wall of Roma Pastry & Pizzeria caught LogOn's attention.

I was drawn to the colorful painting of the Roman coliseum outside Roma, but once I got closer, the smell of fresh baked goods and pizza lured me inside.

As I entered, the cases of pastries, cookies and cakes immediately caught my eye. I quickly decided, even before seeing a lunch menu, that dessert would be a must.

My dining companion and I took a seat by the window and scanned through the menu (seating is limited; therefore, take-out is recommended). We decided to split a 16-inch (large) cheese pizza, $8.99. I placed the order at the counter, then made my way over to the baked goods. The apple turnover, $1.50, seemed to be calling my name, so I added one to my order.

In addition to pizza, Roma serves calzones, stromboli, dinner entrees, hot and cold subs and salads. Coffee, espresso and cappuccino is also available, to accompany their decadent desserts.

The pizzas are prepared fresh and made to order, and ours arrived piping hot, right out of the oven. I had two delicious slices - my Loggerhead friend had three - and we still had three more large slices left. Too stuffed to eat my entire apple turnover, I took a quick bite, then packed it up with the remaining pizza. The flaky pastry and apple-cinnamon filling was exquisite!

I left Roma, full and happy to know my leftovers would provide a tasty meal for later.
