Abingdon at Tradition and PGA Golf Club Challenge Area Golf Communities

Port St. Lucie, Fla. - March 30, 2009-Abingdon at Tradition, a master-planned, full-service retirement community in Port St. Lucie, along with the PGA Golf Club will host the 1 st inaugural The Pro-Am Tournament of Palm Beaches and the Treasure Coast on April 21, 2009 at 8:30 a.m. All proceeds from the tournament will benefit the Alzheimer's Association.

The tournament will pit the skills of all the Golf Clubs in our area against each other culminating in the crowning of The Best Golf Community of the Palm Beach / Treasure Coast.

The Pro-Am, senior, mixed event is open to the residential golf communities of North Palm Beach and The Treasure Coast. Teams will consist of five people, including 4 community residents (2 men, 2 women, minimum age 65) and the community golf pro.

A BBQ luncheon and awards presentation will be held at 1:30 p.m. Pro prizes are as follows: 1 st place $2,500, 2 nd place $1,500, 3 rd place $1,000; Top Community Trophy (combined pro score and best ball net of the foursome), team trophies 1 st, 2 nd, 3 rd and Community Spirit Trophy.
