I have been alicenced practical nurse sence 1974. I recently wanted to change jobs. and out of the blue I go to the local hospital to apply and find out they no longer hire lpns .only rn nurses and cnas. not only the local hospital but martin ,okeechobee co .no one except homehealth agenceys and clenics. the only problem is all those jobs were taken by the lpns the hospitals layed off. some drs offices will hire lpns .but most want medical assistances. so they dont have to pay them as much. and assisted living facilitys hire med tecks, who only have eight hours of training and they are passing out medications to the patients .and they dont know everything they should about the side effects. because they only have to pay them a low salery also.what happened ? what did Imiss. I dident see it in the paper or hear it on the news. what did we do wrong. some may say well go back to school. well Iam 68 years old I have two boys to support.yes I get ss But its not enough. the state of Florida gave me a licence. I went to school, I passed the state board. I do a good job. now what.can I sue the state, or the hospitals . Idont have the time or the money togo to school. I also have cancer .I dident do anything wrong what do I do now.
