Westwood softball player signs Lake City college

Westwoods first basemen Brittany Borchert has received a full athletic Scholarship to Lake City College in Florida. The Lake City Timberwolves have been coached by Donna Howard for the past 2 years. Brittany has played Varsity softball for the Westwood panthers for 3 years receiving numerous awards including Defensive player of the year, for 2006-2007. The Westwood Panthers Varsity softball team is Coached by Lawana Davis & Asst: Coach Rosalee Keogh. Borchert has been playing softball for several years and has also had the opportunity to play softball overseas while living in Singapore with a diversified group of girls. Upon moving back to the U.S. she continued her softball career with the St. Lucie Panthers coached by Robert Kemerson. Brittany played with the Panthers for one year were she then was recruited by head Coach Gail Hilling of the Florida Eliminators travel team. The Eliminators travel the United States showcasing young women and their skills for college scholarships. Brittany was spotted by Lake City College a year ago along with Charleston University in W.va, Emory & Henry in Va. Borchert visited the school and fell in love with her team mates and the warmth of the campus. "My choice was easy. Through hard work and perseverance you can reach your goals", says Borchert.
