PSLAA Kicks Off Game One of Season Openers

PSLAA held it's first games on Saturday, September 13th. It was hot, and so were the scores. Games will be held each Saturday for the next 9 weeks. Here are some of the highlights:
FLAG DIVISION:
Seminoles 6, Buckeyes 22
Seminoles scored on a QB sweep from 15 yards by Jonathan Hice. Great defensive efforts by Zak Zinter, Alex Oravec and Luke Bentley. Buckeyes, Lance Bianchini scored 2 TD's with DJ Robinson adding another x-pt pass to Christian Wilt. X-pt runs by Riley O'Neill and DJ Robinson sealed the win. Great online blocking by TJ Curd and Gabriel Paez.
Golden Knights 6, Volunteers 25
Austin Brendlinger led his Vols offense with 3 TD's. Robbie Komar added another. Vols defense held the Knights to one TD.
Tigers 13, Tarheels 0
Both of these teams are expansion teams for PSLAA. Tarheels had some close calls at the goal line. Garrett Wood and Ryan Mead had a strong defensive game. Ryan Paquin had a good offensive start.
Lions 13, Bulldogs 0
LOWER TACKLE DIVISION
COWBOYS 0, DOLPHINS 19
Gordie Cheyne led off the offensive attack with a 35-yd TD run which was capped off with the x-pt by Garrett Stonecipher. Caleb Pottorff scampered in on another 35 yard TD run. In the 4th quarter Thomas Salerno connected with Noah Johnson on a 40 yard TD pass to seal the victory for the Dolphins. The defense recorded its first shutout with an interception by Thomas Salerno and great defensive plays by Chase Hartley and the entire defensive line.
Jaguars 0, Jets 19
Jets, Marques Burgess Jr. scored 3 TD's and ran over 150 yds. Ryan Christropher ran for 75 yds and was a major defensive player. Michael Brockway had his first sack. Kudos to a great defensive line. Jags Travis "TD" Dovey and Chris Cajuste ran hard for positive yards. Strong team defense held Jets scoreless untill the 3rd quarter. Jags had 2 fumble recoveries and several tackles in the backfield.
Broncos 15, Saints 6
Christopher Crespi and Brett Oliver scored TD's behind the blocking of JC Williams, Anthony Fennetti and Dante Dundar. Gregory Stiger and
Crespi
added
x-pts
on a pass from Brandon Stone. An outstanding team defensive effort was led by Aaron Richardson and Gavin Nowacki.
The Saints
put up a good fight this week after battling a team cold and missing key players on both sides of the ball. Jake Hester ran the ball strong with Zac
Brunner
banging up the middle for a TD. Wayne Moody was the rock on the line along with Teddy Zervos. Defense was led by Jake Hester, Greg Maida and Rhett Causby.
MIDDLE TACKLE DIVISION
Ravens 20, Rams 8
Ravens wing, Isaiah McFadden, rushed for a 35 yd TD. QB, Jeremy Russell rushed for an 8yd score and passed to Enzo Everett for x-pts. Kyle Mata iced the game with a score in the 4th qtr. Leading the defense were Cody Neese, Stephan Lysius and Jordan Mason. Rams, Johnny Schwerer scored the lone TD with the 2 pt conversion by Dayne Dunbar. Aaron Parks ran the ball hard for the Rams, who was also the defensive player along with Chase Dinkins and Nicholas Brasino.
Browns 6, Raiders 26
Greg Greene scored the lone TD for the Browns. Kahlil Shaheed was the defensive player of the game. Raiders Cory Taylor scored 2 TD's with Mike McInnis and Korbin Coleman each adding another. Robbie Rudolph was the dominent player of the defensive line with 2 sacks and a blocked punt.
Giants 6, Eagles 0
Tyler Leo had 1 TD and 1 interception for the Giants assisted by the offensive line. Nick Woodward had outstanding plays on both sides of the ball. Great offsensive efforts by Ellis Butler and Ayden Malcomson. Outstanding defensive player was Frank Dambra.
Bucs 19, Chiefs 0
A steller Bucs defensive line led by Joshua Bollen with two interceptions, shut out the Chiefs offense. Bucs offense led by Corey Arensen with 2 TD's and Rashawn Shaw adding another TD.Buc's offensive line was flawless and paved the way for the start of a new season with a victory. Gage Bailey played well on both sides of the ball. Defensive players were James Walsh, Christian Offermann, Shawn Richardson and Rodney Innocent. Ben coleman had 38 yds rushing.
UPPER TACKLE DIVISION
VIKINGS 26, BEARS 14
DJ Juste scored 3 TD's. Matt Romasco added another TD to lead the Vikings to victory. DJ kicked for x-pts. Nico Martone and Darian Coffee led the defense for the Viks. The Bears had a rough start against this well coached team. The line did a great job with scores by Drevean Johns and Joseph Figeroa.
STEELERS 6, CHARGERS 13
Ricky Rodrieguez scored first for the Chargers with Sal Maschiello adding the x-pt.Keyeme Carson returned a fumble 60 yards for a TD. Defense played strong and held the Steelers to a singlescore. Steelers, Michael Chery had a 65 rickoff return to set up 8 yd TD run by Michael Brown. James Dorival had an interception, Seth Pipkin a QB sack and Alfredo Flores had a fumble recovery. Defensive line was led by Charles Ballard and Jay Bostwick.
REDSKINS 20, PACKERS 0
Outstanding plays by both offense and defense led the Redskins to a shutout against the Packers. Kyle Kreiter and Tyler Perdrix each had a TD with Perdrix coming down with two interceptions. Garrett Klemm added another TD reception.
