More Gold, Sliver and Bronze Comes Home

Team Sidekick, from Sidekick Martial Arts school in Port St. Lucie brought home gold, silver and bronze metals from the 10th annual Disney Festival of Martial Arts held October 17 and 18. The Disney Wild World of Sprots complex rang with grunts, groans and shouts of encouragement from supporters of the 1600 competitors gathered to vie for the metals of recognition in their sport.
Team Sidekick fielded their best for this competition. In the Promoters Championship the winners of regional tornaments were pitted against each other in a Best of the Best event. Sidekick's Cindy Rochefort took first place in Point Sparring and first place in Traditional Forms in her class. Gabriela (Gabby) Leonor placed second in Point Sparring and fourth in Traditional Forms. Remember these girls were competing against winners of regional events from all over the country.
In the KICK USA National Championship these two young ladies again scored winning points, Cindy captured first in Traditional Forms and Point Sparring while Gabby placed second in Point Sparring and fourth in Traditional Forms.
KICK USA stands for Kids in Competition Karate, a non profit organization that promotes the positive benefits of the martial arts.
Other schools from the Treasure Coast competing were Generation X (Stuart), Master Amy Reed's Black Belt Academy (Stuart), and Kaizen Leadership Kartate School from Port St. Lucie.
Team Sidekick members competing and the awards they received were: Brando Florio, fourth in Grappling and a Super Competitor in Traditional Forms; Baily Abel, second in Grappling and fourth in Point Sparring and a Super Competitor in Traditional Weapons and Traditional Forms; Megan Abel, first place in Grappling fourth in Point Sparring, sixth in Traditional Weapons and a Super Competitor in Traditional Forms; David Bonalde, second in Point Sparring,fifth in Traditional Weapons and fourth in Traditional Forms; Alexis Piscitello, second in Point Sparring, fourth in Grappling, eighth in Traditional Weapons and a Super Competitor in Traditional Forms; Nya Chang Alloy, first in Grappling, third in Open Weapons, fourth in Traditional Forms and sixth in Traditional Weapons; Kayla Chang Alloy, second in Grappling, fifth in both Traditional Forms and Point Sparring; Marlin Hossler, first in Grappling, fourth in Open Forms and a Super Competitor in Traditional Weapons; David Hossler, a Super Competitor in Grappling and Traditional Form.
