MorningsideChurch's Family Ministry, Family Night Live held their first ever outdoor Family Night Live entitled "Beach Blast 2009" on Friday, June 5. Families had a memorable time watching a live-on-stage family friendly comedy show with a hilarious cast of characters. The well known group arrived in their RVs sporting their beachwear ready to celebrate summer. But something just wasn't right, several in the group where clearly not acting themselves, but that all changed when Susanna Louisiana showed up! Susanna Louisiana performed a song that many of the families recognized; one entitled "The Climb". Kids in the audience were singing along to the familiar tune.
Of course no FNL show is not complete until hosts, Mike & Laura play some audience games and Beach Blast was no exception. Despite a bit of rain everyone remained Optimistic (which ironically was the virtue lesson of the show) and truly had an amazing time. The hosts completed the show by giving away tons of prizes like Cold Stone gift cards, snow cone makers, slip -n- slides, sand toy packages, and more).
After the show wrapped up, the night was not close to being over. Families enjoyed hot dogs, Taco bell, snow cones, and popcorn. Then parents and kids took a shot at dunking their favorite hosts, Mike and Laura in the dunk tank. Kids took turns bouncing in the Billy's Bounce Houses, and families sat around in beach chairs talking and having a relaxing time.
There is a buzz on Facebook about when the next outdoor show will be, but that will have to wait until next year. Until then, Family Night Live continues to be held on a monthly basis at MorningsideChurch. It all starts at 6 PM with a FREE Kid-Style Buffet then the real fun begins when show starts at 7 PM. Mark your calendar to be sure that you don't miss their future events...July 3, September 4, October 2, November 7, and December 4. (There is no show in August).
