Kids Djembe Drum Jam at the Fenn Center

With so many choices of what activities to enroll our kids in this summer, how can we find a program that is entertaining as well as educational? Desi with Full Circle Workshops has teamed up with the Fenn Center to bring a musical program to Fort Pierce for a suggested age group between 8 - 14 years old.

The Djembe Drum Jam is an interactive rhythm event that will teach culturally based techniques using the West Afrcian Djembe hand drum and other instruments like shakers, scrapers and blocks along with vocal and body percussion. This is a unique and exciting activity created to educate through musical games and team building exercises. No musical experience is needed.

Percussion events are used for wellness and recreational purposes within communities for a variety of reasons. Interactive rhythm making is designed for stress reduction, socialization, mental and physical exercise and building confidence. It is a fun avenue to let go of social norms and to "feel" the music in a dynamic and empowering setting.

Cost is $10.00 which includes instruments. Pre-Registration is recommended at the Fenn Center at 2000 Virginia Ave. in Fort Pierce. Space and instruments are limited to the first 15 enrolled. For more information call Desi at 772-468-8813 or 336-671-1213 or visit www.fullcircleworkshops.org.
