Getting the most for your dollar at the pump is important to everyone anymore, and when I went to get new tires on my 2006 Rendezvous I heard of a great way to increase our gas millage that some may have not thought of yet.
First let me tell you about where I ended up getting tires.
We all know that you can get tires just about anywhere nowadays. Chain garages are everywhere. A great friend of mine, Curt Sheffer recommended the best place to me though America's Tire & Service located on US 1 right across from H & R Block in Ft Pierce. Now I live in Port Saint Lucie, so I was not thrilled with driving all the way down to Fort Pierce, but knowing Curt and that I didn't have my own husband in town to take care of the tire problem for me, I gritted my teeth one recent afternoon and drove up the road, to get my tires replaced.
The moment I walked in the door at ATS, I felt right at home. Rick Howell sat at his desk and was all smiles and friendly conversation as I handed over the keys and his mechanics went right to work pulling my car in and getting the job done as quickly and efficiently as possible.
One of the first questions out of Rick was if I wanted my tires to be
Nitro-Size
my tires. Now I am a women, and what do I know about tires? Okay, some women know about tires, I don't. So after Rick saw my baffled look, he explained to me how by using nitrogen in your tires instead of air you not only extend the life of your tires, but you also increase your gas mileage.
SOLD!!!!!
As I moved to wait in the shop I couldn't help but notice that there was no TV, like at other shops, to entertain the customers, instead Rick and his mechanics maintained a conversation with the waiting customers, helping you feel like you were at home, or visiting a friend.
When I finally pulled back out on to US1 that afternoon, I felt reassured that my car would be running smoother on its new Nitro-Sized tires, that I would defiantly be driving up to visit my friend Rick again. As I called my pal Curt to thank him for the recommendation, I heard how Curt had been one of Rick's first customers almost 7 years ago when Rick had first opened up the shop, and how for everyone in the Sheffer Family the first place they all go, is to see Rick when ever they have a car problem or question, even when Curt finds himself out of town, he knows that Rick and his crew will always be there to help.
Other benefits to Nitro-Sizing
-increased gas mileage
-extends tire life- up to 25%
-improves ride quality
-reduce false alarms on your tire pressure monitors
-fewer pressure checks- tires maintain pressure up to 3 times longer
-reduces corrosion inside your whees
So the next time you are needing new tires or any type of maintence, Give Rick Howell a call at
772-468-9331
. The only fish story you will get from his shop is about the one he caught over the weekend taht was
THIS BIG
.
PS
Rick I want to ride along on the next fishing trip, I still can't believe that fish was that big.
