Blog Entry 4 of 4 Take Action Easy as 123 or FYI

There are so many important issues that come through my inbox that I thought I'd share them. Almost all come with a pre-written letter making it easy to take action. If you agree with the action alert of the day, all it takes is a minute to type in your name and address to make your voice heard. (You don't have to put your phone number down.) Then there's some stuff that I think is good to know just FYI (for your information). If anything, just to be aware of.

The American Institute for Cancer Research and the World Cancer Research Fund says there is scientific consensus that processed meats cause colorectal cancer. They wrote a petition to the Secretary of the Dept. of Agricultureto remove those foods from school lunches.

Colon cancer is the third most common form of cancer and the second leading cause of cancer-related death. Processed meats are assumed to be safe in moderation but I don't think we should be subsidizing them with our tax dollars and feeding them to children unnecessarily.
