I'm not afraid of dying, and I rarely find myself regretting anything. However, I am very afraid that one day I will regret not doing certain things and find my life cut too short for everything I want to do with it. The other night my dad decided to pop in the movie, "The Bucket List" thinking it would be funny based on the things he has heard and the fact that Jack Nicholson is in it. We were sadly mistaken (rather, he was). It was one of the most depressing movies I have ever watched. Instead of a good laugh and small consideration of my life, it made me anxious and concerned of what is to come in this ever so short life of mine. Usually I don't think about death, not seriously anyway...not so intently that I get a knot in my stomach. I go about living my life with the thought in mind that I am young and I have plenty of time. But the truth is we are all going to die eventually. It is no secret. I do not want to live my life constantly thinking about the fact that my life is slipping away one minute at a time, I want to live my life to my fullest. I want to fulfill all my dreams before it is too late. I do not want to die without telling the people that I love how much they mean to me and how much they have affected my life. Most importantly...I think what I am trying to say is that you cannot live your life worrying about when you are going to die and how and where, but you also cannot go on living without a conscious thought that the life we have is not endless. If you don't follow your dreams now, when will you get the chance too? Do not think you can put something off and do it later or fix it later because chances are it will not get done and you will spend your last moments regretting it. Death itself does not scare me, its life. Fortunately, I like overcoming fears. I hope that I spend my last years content with what I have done with my life, without wondering "what if" and knowing that I lived my life to it's fullest.
See what Morgan Freeman can do to a movie?

Molly, Much insight in your column. I so agree with you. I like Robert Frost's poem about the road not taken, that's less traveled. There are a few people who follow their dreams. They seem happier than the multitudes. Shirley Grose
