Blog Entry 3 of 3 Let's Beat High Gas Prices

Last week Matt Lauer on the Today show interviewed Exxon CEO and Chairman Rex Tillerson regarding the high cost of gas. In 2005 Exxon had $36.1 BILLION in PROFIT. More profit than any other company in US history! Mr. Tillerson’s compensation is $4.12 million PER YEAR! Yet this man had the audacity to tell Matt Lauer the high price at the pump is all just a matter of supply and demand. AMERICANS—let’s show Mr. Tillerson how supply and demand works. Let’s all refuse to buy Exxon. Buy any other gas, BUT NOT EXXON. Let’s show Mr. Tillerson we don’t need EXXON. Then let’s see what happens to the price at the Exxon pumps! Also, if at all possible pay cash, not credit card, so the credit card companies don’t get a profit from our need to buy gas. Some of my friends are cutting up their Exxon cards and sending them back to Exxon. Let's brainstorm--what else can we do? I live in a small town (pop. 600) about 100 miles north of Houston. There is no bus transportation, nearest town is 6 miles away in next county over a long, high bridge. Walking or biking is too dangerous. Only option is to drive private car. Neighbors are carpooling to the grocery store and the post office to save gas. Basically we're trapped and just trying to survive. My husband is disabled and on SS disability. I'm very ill(for last 8 months) and lost my job and was denied long-term disability I paid for at my last employment. People like us need help! Fed up in Pointblank, Texas

Wake Up Americans,
