Okay so maybe I don't keep up with politics as much as I should for a person voting for the first time in the next election but, hey, I am a busy girl. Honestly I keep up with the latest news through my favorite musicians' blogs and the homepage of Yahoo mail. Just because I do not keep up with politics does not mean I do not care. Recently I read a blog about Obama's new paint job on his plane. Apparently he repainted his plane and instead of keeping the American flag which was already present, he painted his own campaign emblem on the plane. This is ALMOST as big of news as when everyone realized that Obama did not wear an American flag pin. People argue that these things prove how un-American Obama really is, using such evidence as support against Obama and for the claim that he is muslim. And all I have to say to this is...seriously? None of this has anything to do with who I plan to vote for this fall, it all comes down to my views on politics and this country. There are so many other important issues to be focusing on rather than the paint job on a plane. Putting so much focus on such a minute issue causes people to overlook the real issues. All in all I just think it shows how weak the United States is as a democratic government. American citizens can not seem to focus on the real issues so no wonder we always have a screwed up government. Maybe I am wrong or maybe it is hypocritical of me to write a whole blog entry about it but I honestly believe that the paint job on Obama's plane is of little to no importance. It may have been different if he repainted his plane with the Russian flag or profanity or something but all the man did was paint his campaign logo on the plane. So, what? Maybe he is a little conceaded but such a irrelavent issue should no affect someone's stance on who they intend to vote for in the upcoming election.
