Daddy, dear daddy,
It's your special day.
How can it be special,
When you're so far away?
Mommy says we love you.
We miss your loving touch.
You're fighting for our country
And for the freedom we love so much.
Come home soon, dear Daddy,
So I can kiss you each night,
Instead of your picture
And that doesn't feel right.
So, Happy Father's Day, dear Poppy,
You're my hero and my friend,
And mommy and this Johnny,
Are praying for this war to end.
