On July 9, 2008, the International Baccalaureate Organization awarded 30,000 IB Diplomas to students worldwide based upon rigorous written assessments, oral assessments, extensive research papers and projects, lab portfolios, the completion of 150 hours of Creativity, Action and Service (CAS) hours, and the submission of an in-depth extended essay of approximately 4,000 words.
External examiners located throughout the world evaluate their assessments and award the final marks. SRHS IB students attained a pass rate of 85.7 %, with 36 of the 42 IB Diploma candidates earning the IB Diploma compared to the worldwide pass rate of 78.3% for May, 2008.
In a world where global competition is becoming increasingly important, the SRHS IB Program is providing a world class education to the students who choose this rigorous path. IB students and teachers have achieved the highest IB Diploma rate in the history of IB at SRHS.
Congratulations to SRHS' International Baccalaureate Class of 2008!!!
