SRMS essay contest about volunteerism.

Sebastian River Middle School had 84 students that participated in an essay contest about volunteerism sponsored by the AT&T Pioneers. The Telephone Pioneers, AT&T's service organization, conducted the contest and judged the essays. We are proud to announce that we had six finalists that were recognized for outstanding essays today. They were Lily Valencia, Devin Michaels, Tyler Welsh, Albert Alverez, Billy Francisco, and Savannah Taflinger. The grand prize winner was difficult to choose. Devin Michael's essay was chosen as the winner for SRMS. His essay was also entered in the state competition which he won as well! Devin was awarded a Toshiba laptop computer for winning the school contest and a wireless printer and mouse for winning the state competition. A special thank you to the language arts department for sponsoring this essay contest along with AT&T Pioneers.
