The Sebastian Clambake & Lagoon Festival is back! The Foundation is preparing for the 2008 Festival, to be held on November 7, 8, & 9 at Riverview Park. On March 26, the Sebastian City Council unanimously approved a five-year contract, thereby ensuring that the event will continue through 2012.
Since 2002, the Clambake Foundation has donated more than $190,000 to local organizations, and is currently seeking applications fromgroups wishing to be considered as beneficiaries. The Foundation funds new construction or capital improvements only. Requests for funds for programs will not be considered.
Eligible projects are those that would occur anywhere between 77 th St., near Wabasso, and the North Indian River County line, east of I-95. The application deadline is May 26. The representatives from the ten member organizations will view presentations from all eligible applicants on June 3.
The following is a list of requirements:
Organization must submit a letter on its letterhead to
Sebastian Clambake Foundation that includes the following:
1. Name of the organization and its mission
2. Details of the project for which funding is being requested
3. Explanation of how this project will serve our local community
4. Amount of funding requested
Supporting documentation may include the following:
1. A list of the members of the organization's Board of Directors.
2. The total budget for the project
3. Documentation regarding any organizations that are in partnership with the project
4. Other sources of funding already obtained
5. One or two letters of support from community leaders or others involved in the project
