The Friends of Historic Roseland neighborhood organization is hosting an old fashioned barbecue party on Oct. 17
th. The event is being held at Roseland's Old Firehall at 8029 129
th Court just off Roseland Rd. Doors open at 10:30 AM. Food will be served from 11:00a to 2:00 PM. The $10.00 per person entrance fee covers a full plate of homemade barbecue, baked beans, slaw, cornbread and iced tea. Tickets may be purchased at the door.
A highlight of the event is the Atlantic Bluegrass Band playing throughout the day. There will also be a white elephant sale from 8:00a to 12:00p and bake sale of
homemade treats. Vendors are also welcome to sell their products and wares for a table fee of $10.00.
All of the proceeds from the day will be used by the Friends of Historic Roseland in providing college scholarships to Roseland students, as well as other projects that preserve the small-town ambiance of the area.
This barbecue event is celebrating the 117
th anniversary of Roseland's settlement in 1892. Roseland is located on the shores of the St. Sebastian River and Indian River Lagoon. It is an unincorporated area northwest of the City of Sebastian in northern Indian River County. Roseland Road has recently been added to the Indian River Lagoon Scenic Highway.
