The Vero Beach Theatre Guild, 2020 San Juan Ave., will begin its 52nd season of live community theatre with the adult comedy "The Second Time Around," Sept. 17-27.
Hearts beat and pulses race when widow and widower Laura Curtis and Samuel Jonas, played by Patti Burns and Larry Strauss, meet in a physician's waiting room
Later, their attraction for each other makes them realize they can no longer endure living apart, so they announce their intention of living together --- significantly in a single state --- much to the loud protests of their adult offspring.
The happy ending starts with a new beginning "the second time around."
Written by novelist and playwright Henry Denker and directed by Guild member George Carabin, the cast also includes Leigh Ann Dunleavy, Doolin Dalton, Diane McDaniel and Mitch Stein.
Production members are: Assistant Director Nancy Malinos; Producer Carole Strauss; Stage Manager Debbie Kepler and Production Manager Denise Lee.
Costumes are being handled by Gerry King and Marion Searfoss; props, Melina Bair; sound, Edward Dessureau.
Ticket prices remain the same: $20/$18, with youth 18 and under half-price. Groups of 20 or more are discounted. On-line sales also are available at the website: verobeachtheatreguild.com.
