Contributed by: Kelley Williams on 7/17/2008

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Indian River County announces the election of four new members to their Board of Directors, Sheila Mills, Jean Oglethorpe, Virginia Powers and John Spooner. All have a history of philanthropic involvement in Indian River County and the Boys & Girls Clubs is grateful for their time, talent and treasure that make a difference in the lives of Club members.

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Indian River County, a United Way and Children's Services Advisory Committee agency, is a youth development organization that serves over 2,000 young people annually with quality programs that develop citizenship, leadership and character. They serve kids ages 6-18 every day after school and all day during the summer at three Clubhouse locations in Indian River County, one in Sebastian and two in Vero Beach. Plans call for expanding into Fellsmere next year. The top priority of the Boys & Girls Clubs is helping kids succeed in school and in life.
