A clear blue sky and lots of sun helped to make the 4th Annual Elks Car Show and Picnic a huge success on Sunday February 10th.
This was part of 3 day weekend to introduce persons to the Elks Lodge and what they are all about. Itbegan on Friday evening with an informative presentation about Elkdom.
Saturday evening there was a Rock & Roll dinner dance with music by The "Korvettes". Over 100 people attended. Cam Bowers was chairlady.
Sunday "The Renegade Cruisers" put on a great car show, which was free to the public, with 115 cars in attendance. The cars were judged and trophies awarded to 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners and best of the show. Thanks to the efforts of Ray & Terri Kaminski of the Renegades and Gene Rummell of the Sebastian Elks Lodge #2714,this show has grown each year. Gene who has run it for the past four years, estmates that there were over 1,000 people who attended the show and picnic, which served hot dogs, hamburgers and the works to over 450 people. In addition to the food and drinks there were venders selling their wares. There was something for everyone, including a clown, who was making animals from balloons, for the children.
A special thanks to all of the Elks and volunteers who helped put this weekend together to benefit The Children's Therapy Services of Florida.
