DON YOUR BEST 50s ATTIRE AND MAKE A DIFFERENCE IN A CHILD'S LIFE

See Grease In Style and Benefit Children's Home Society of Florida

--On the Big Screen at the Majestic ll Theatre, Oct. 3 --

VERO BEACH, FL, Sept. 10, 2009 - With the start of school and homecoming spirit in the air, it's time to dust off the saddle shoes and letterman sweaters for a one-time special showing of "Grease" on the big screen at the Majestic 11. As a prelude to Halloween, attendees are encouraged to sport their best '50s-themed costume for a night full of contests, nostalgia, and prizes. Net proceeds will benefit the Treasure Coast Division of Children's Home Society of Florida (CHS) and Baines Hall. The party will kick off on Saturday Oct. 3 at 6 p.m. with costume and trivia contests, followed by the 7 p.m. screening of the coming-of-age classic "Grease."

There are few movies more reminiscent of high school days than "Grease," starring John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John. The theme of the charity event seemed to be a perfect fit for the beneficiaries the Majestic ll selected: The l2 teenage girls living at CHS's Baines Hall, a group residence for foster children who have been removed from their families due to abuse, neglect or abandonment. Previously located in Winter Beach, more than 240 teenage girls from Okeechobee, Martin, St. Lucie and Indian River counties have lived in the residence since it opened in 1998.

Sabrina Starr, Director of Marketing and Events for Cinemaworld, which includes the Majestic Theatre in Vero Beach, felt that this special showing would be a perfect way for the theater to energize the local community for the girls' benefit.

"We wanted to do this for CHS. It's a good fit and a great organization," Starr said. "We are really excited about it." The Majestic 11 is a family-owned theatre that routinely supports community organizations through charitable events.

The Majestic ll is located at 940 14th Lane in Vero Beach. People from all walks of life including those who might be inspired by "Grease" legends -- the Pink Ladies, T-Birds, Jocks or Scorpions -- are invited. Tickets are on sale now - $20 for adults and $15 for children 12 & under. All tickets include admission, a small popcorn, and small soda. To purchase tickets, please visit www.majesticvero.com, e-mail sstarr@cinemaworldonline.com or call 772-770-0774 for more information.
