I caught a fish
this big!
It's no tall tale that members of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Indian River County's Vero Beach Club had a blast on the fishing trip sponsored by the Vero Beach Power Squadron. Twenty-three kids enjoyed a day of catch and release led by Captains Bill Heimbaugh, Jim Kreider, Bob McCurdy, Charlie Stanton, Woody Boarman, Frank Bilotta and Dick Carlin and crew members Tricia Walker, Sy McCurdy, Rob Kane, Pat Bilotta and Bob Scully.
After a morning of fishing on the river, Club members enjoyed lunch and an awards presentation. Club member Horace Phillips received a trophy for most fish caught, Darius King caught the biggest fish and Bailey Yoerin-Royal caught the smallest fish. There was also a drawing for rod and reel combs and lures. All of the kids had a great time and would like to send a big thank you to the Vero Beach Power Squadron for planning such a fun day.
