New Sebastian Lions Officers

At their annual Installation and Awards meeting, the Sebastian Lions Club and the Sebastian Lions Charity Foundation installed new officers for the coming "Lion Year" July 1, 2009 through June 30, 2010. The installing officer, Past District Governor Doris Hollins used the Flag as a symbol for the installation. Lion Jan Smits was named Lion of the Year for her hard work as White Cane co-chair, dinner committee chair and all-around support of the club's many activities. Lion Dr. Norman Meyer was awarded the Melvin Jones Fellowship award for his work as the chairman of the Sebastian Fourth of July Celebration for the past several years, performing the Tail Twister duties and his tireless efforts in supporting club activities. The officers installed for the coming Lion Year are as follows: President - Lion Jim Finochi, 1st Vice Pres.-Lion Richard Wutzler, 2nd Vice Pres.-Lion Joyce Meyer, 3rd Vice Pres.-Lion John Fischer, Co-Secretaries, Lions Shirley Hall and Jan Smits, Treasurer-Lion Dee Smith, Lion Tamer-Lion Suzanne Masino, Tail Twister-Lion Dr. Norman Meyer, Membership Committe Chairperson-Lion Phyllis Kennerk, Directors for 1 year, Lions Tony Annunziato, Jan Smits, Lawrene Montowski and Mary Wutzler. Directors for 2 years: Lions Walter Smith, Joe Blair, Chuck Smits and Jerry Kennerk. The club officers automatically become officers of the Sebastian Lions Charity Foundation which is a non-profit, tax exempt entity recognized by the Internal Revenue Service.
