What:	NEXT › ‹ PREVIOUS At Stuart City Hall, the Stuart Heritage will host its regular meeting in June and feature their guest speaker, author, Alice L. Luckhardt. She has researched the colorful life and times of Stuart's Chief of Police, O. B. Padgett, from the 1920s. In the May 2008 issue of FLORIDA MONTHLY MAGAZINE, page 8 - 10, is an article covering part of his life in Stuart. She also has published a book, "O. B. Padgett ~ A Florida Son" providing more details of his life and career as a lawman. Of special interest is his personal recollections he wrote back in the mid-1970s about the Treasure Coast's famous Ashley Gang. These personal memoirs of Padgett were only recently gathered from several sources.
