In early June 2008, Ocean Gate General Contractors personnel Mike Cason and Samantha Kayser attended the hose uncoupling and open house for the Aircraft Rescue and Firefighting Station #4 located next to the Fort Pierce International Airport. This event provided the local community the opportunity to tour the facility that serves both the airport and the surrounding area. The initial hose uncoupling replaced the traditional ribbon cutting ceremony and after a few brief speeches, the attendees were able to explore the building.
Cason was specifically recognized for his important role as the project manager responsible for the construction of such a vital community facility by Chief Ron Parrish. The station will house the fire district's personnel with the primary role of saving lives throughout the community. This new facility replaces the 40-year-old fire fighting station #4 located a short distance away.
Ocean Gate assigned Cason to the Aircraft Rescue and Firefighting Station #4 project after the company was awarded the contract in January 2007. Cason worked with Dan Alessandrini, the superintendent on the job, to expertly supervise the progression of the project and ensure that it exceeded client expectations. Cason led the assignment to success that included the construction of a new 8,327 square foot masonry one-story fire station, 3.5 acres of site work and a commercial grade kitchen. The fire station depicts the advances in technology and construction that provide staff comfort, a better layout and updated appliances.
