IN APPRECIATION TO JOHN PIERSON & TOYOTA OF STUART
Contributed by: Michael Green on 10/22/2009

I am writing to share a "feel good" story about my mother who turned a year older today (That is as much as I can get away with saying regarding the issue of age). The culprit who made my "less than elderly" mother feel good was none other than that man who owns and operates our local Toyota dealership and is constantly in the news for making our lives and the lives of those around us better. I wish to thank him for a special moment that he made happen for my mom today. She turned a year older on this day, and our family took her out for a special "day and night on the town". The last stop of the day for her was a surprise that none of us (including my twelve year old daughter) would "let out of the bag". We drove to downtown Stuart and pulled into one of the spaces near Kilwins Ice Creamery. Mom immediately said that she had already had too much to eat and was not going to have ice cream no matter how hard we begged. She did however insist on buying her granddaughter a treat to celebrate the occasion. When we got inside, we were informed that there would be no charge because the treats were compliments of Mr. John Pierson from Toyota of Stuart. Mom felt sheepish that she had considered not accepting his birthday present to her. However, even after she ordered her cup of ice cream, she mumbled something about not being able to eat so much. To make a long story short, when we arrived at our house, I had the pleasure of throwing away mom's empty cup which she slowly consumed the contents of all the way home. I just want Mr. Pierson to know that my mom greatly appreciated his birthday gift to her and especially the fact that he made her birthday into a community wide holiday by sponsoring treats for everyone at Kilwins. The treats at Kilwins are just one small example of what a special and generous member of our community Mr. Pierson is. I think that we should all be very grateful to him for bringing our citizens together and being such a shining example of how all of us should treat one another.
