First Presbyterian Preschool was fully accredited by the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI) on
June 30 th, 2008, following a rigorous preparatory and evaluative process. ACSI's National Early Education Accreditation Commission awarded accreditation status after thoroughly reviewing the center's self study document, a peer review visiting team report, and observation materials.
Since a very small percentage of the child care centers in the United States pursue accreditation, First Presbyterian Preschool is to be commended for its commitment to quality care and education for young children as evidenced by their newly acquired accredited status. Directed by Denise Emmick
, First Presbyterian Preschool enrolls children, aged 3 to 5 with the mission of helping children develop as students who are prepared for a growing Christian faith, a successful start in kindergarten in accordance with their developmental timetable and a love of learning.
ACSI accreditation provides a national benchmark for early education centers. First Presbyterian Preschool received the Gold Seal Quality of Care from the Department of Children and Families Child Care Services as a result of earning accreditation with ACSI. ACSI is a leader in accrediting protestant Pre-K-12 th grade private schools worldwide.
The staff and preschool board worked together in documenting the school's
best practices and improvements in eight areas, including: curriculum, physical
environment and family and community relations. We are all celebrating the
accomplishment of this achievement and look forward to serving the families in
our community.
