Program on Sensory Integration Announced

The Media Center at Jensen Beach Elementary School will be the location for the final quarterly meeting of the Exceptional Student Education Parent Advisory Council on Tuesday, April 28, 2009 from 6:30-8:15 p.m. A highlight of this meeting is a presentation on sensory integration followed by a tour of the Sensory Integration Lab at the school. The keynote speaker for the evening will be Joanne Sweazey. Ms. Sweazey, an ESE Program Specialist for Autism and Autism Spectrum Disorders, will provide an overview of sensory integration; what is it and how does it help students with disabilities. Parents, caregivers, teachers, paraprofessionals, agency personnel and administrators are urged to attend. The public is also cordially invited.
