Project Northland Launches Incentive to
Students for Alcohol-Free Living
Stuart, FL., April 29, 2009- Project Northland is launching an incentive program for Middle School students who commit to alcohol and drug free living called, the "Gold Card" program. Students in Martin County have successfully completed the Project Northland prevention curriculum, and will receive the Gold Card to use during the summer months of 2009. The Gold Card is a discount card to a select group of local businesses that support substance abuse prevention for teens in our community.
Project Northland, a collaborative program between Martin County Board of County Commissioners, The Martin County School District, and The Children's Service Council of Martin County, is introducing this exciting new program in May. The Gold Card Program will allow the community to give recognition and rewards to all middle school students who have participated in the Project Northland curriculum in grades 6, 7 and 8 grades. The Program's goal is to raise community awareness about preventing underage drinking and to recognize the accomplishment of students finishing the curriculum.
Students with a Gold Card will be able to receive different discounts and incentives from June 2009 thru August 2009. The participating businesses, their locations and discounts are as follows:

- Papa Johns Pizza of Stuart and Port Salerno: $5.00 Large, One Topping Pizza.
