Redeemer Lutheran Church and School Goes Pink
Contributed by: Rachel Planker on 10/26/2009

Students and staff at Redeemer Lutheran School showed their support for breast cancer as they celebrated Pink Day on September 23. For $5, staff members could wear jeans and a pink shirt in support of the cause. Students were also invited to join the cause by wearing pink in place of their uniforms. Some dressed in pink from head to toe. It was fun to see such support for such a worthy cause, even at a young age. Over four hundred dollars were collected and donated to the American Cancer Society through the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk on September 24 in Tradition. Several teachers, including Sarah Bakkelund, Karen Schlamp, Amanda Bittenbender, and Rachel Planker participated in the walk.
