Keepin' Up with Jones
Contributed by: Romina Colombo BB Jones Communications Inc on 9/26/2008

Keeping up with Jones, Issue 4, publication date September 22, 2008

Ready, set, fall! September 22 is the first day of autumn. Unfortunately, I don't think we will be experiencing a chill in the air and a need to break out a sweater, yet. But cooler temperatures combined with a rise in the social activity meter are definitely on the horizon.

Please remember to send your organization's fundraising events to www.bbjonespr.com and post them on our Internet social calendar. I provide this service so other professionals and interested guests can plan their events without conflict. Unfortunately, there just do not seem to be enough Friday and Saturday nights to go around in what we refer to as "season' to avoid overlaps but events tend to attract their own unique crowd which helps.

September is always the time for fresh starts and new beginnings and I have some great NEWS. Romina Colombo has joined the BB Jones team as Marketing Director and Public Relations Associate. Romina, who is originally from Buenos Aires, is married to Travis Anstett and has a darling 4-year-old daughter, Amelie. Romina was a features writer for "Medical Breakthroughs" a service of Ivanhoe News in Winter Park, FL and a columnist with Axis Magazine, an entertainment magazine. She is a number one Starbucks fan and in fact managed the Springs Plaza shop in Longwood, FL and handled marketing for The Breakfast Clubs networking franchise.

Tanya Spain at Puppuccino is inviting everyone to stop by her newly expanded canine boutique in downtown Stuart next door to the recently shuttered T.A. Verns. Tanya is now offering people treats at the Canine Café in addition to the gourmet animal treats and clothing she stocks. She is open Monday to Saturday from 11 am to 6 pm and you can enjoy lunch delivered from Osceola Street Café from 11:30 am to 2 pm. Why not have a dog date with your favorite dogs and their leash holders at the café?

You can also sample the gourmet cupcakes baked fresh by Amy and Sue of Crazy for Cake. Depending on the day you might get a chance to try the Red Velvet, Monkeylicious or Southern Praline. If you are crazy for cake, call Amy at 772-341-5730 or Sue at 772-214-5572 or e-mail 'em at crazyforcake@hotmail.com. Oh, Stuart/Martin County Chamber members receive a discount!

I'm not a surfer but I certainly enjoy it as a spectator sport and have fond memories of summers in Surf City, N.J. Romina and I took a trip to Orlando to go to Surf Expo at the Convention Center. This event is for buyers and media only so we were excited to attend.

As you might expect, there are lots of gals modeling the latest swim and sport wear, more sandals than you ever thought possible and every color, shape and size of boardsports. Surf, skate, wake, wind, ski. We met up with Ajai Datta, regional manager for Billabong, Jimmy Moren, owner of Locals Surf Shop in Jupiter, and Jamie and his daughter, Alex Chauss, of room.it.up (personalize your space) manufacturers of travel bags and accessories and room and closet organizers. Their office is located on Indian Street in Sawgrass Plaza, just around the corner from our offices. They have a great line of products that you can purchase at www.roomitup.com.
