The public is invited to attend a free "Star Parties & Planetarium Open House" on Friday, Sept. 29, from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the Indian River Community College Hallstrom Planetarium at the Main Campus in Fort Pierce.

Telescopes will be set up and operated by members of the Treasure Coast Astronomical Society. There will be viewing of the moon, the planet Jupiter, stars and nebulae - weather permitting.

The Planetarium will also be open for 15-minute mini-shows about things visible in the current evening sky, including the constellations of early autumn, such as Cygnus the Swan, Lyra the Harp, Aquila the Eagle, Scorpius the Scorpion and Sagittarius the Archer.
