Home & Garden Show to Feature Real Estate Tips, HGTV's House Hunters Host & Dr. Phil of Decorating

Is the worst of the real estate market over, or will the downturn continue? Should homeowners sell now, or wait, and if so, how long? These and other questions will be answered by a panel of local experts at the West Palm Beach Home & Garden Show February 16 to February 18 at the South Florida Fairgrounds' Expo Center in West Palm Beach. Show hours are 10 a.m. - 9 p.m. on Feb. 16 and 17 and 10 a.m. - 6 p.m. on Feb. 18.

The Real Estate Resource Center will be among the attractions at the show, along with Suzanne Whang, currently in her fifth season of hosting "House Hunters," the number one rated show on HGTV. She is also an actor, television host, stand-up comedian, author and public speaker. As an actor, Whang has appeared in numerous television series, including "Boston Legal," "Criminal Minds," "Nip/Tuck," "NYPD Blue," "Two & a Half Men," "Still Standing," and a recurring role on "Las Vegas." As a stand-up comedian, Whang won the Andy Kaufman Award at the first annual New York Comedy Festival, and she also won "Best Up & Coming Comedian" at the Las Vegas Comedy Festival, playing her outrageous and controversial alter ego, Sung Hee Park. Suzanne Whang's "Guide to Happy Home Buying," was published by Meredith Books last year.

Karl Lohnes, the "Dr. Phil of Decorating," is also expected to entertain and educate homeowners who are looking for decorating ideas. He co-hosted America's "This Small Space" on HGTV for eight years and is a highly sought out contributor to many television programs as a home décor and entertaining expert. He is also the style editor for Style At Home, Canada's largest-selling décor publication and his syndicated 'Ask Us' advice column is reprinted in community newspapers throughout the country.

Another feature will be Chef Keith Greene, an executive chef at JLX Bistro in New York, and most recently a semi finalist on Fox's reality cooking show, "Hell's Kitchen." He will conduct cooking demonstrations throughout the weekend. Shabby to Chic, a home staging and organizing trio, will offer tips from selling one's home and how to make a new home work to finding solutions to clutter disasters.

The 500 exhibitors who offer the latest in home improvement products and services continue to be the show's mainstay. One of the highlights is that visitors can interact one-on-one with them while getting free expert advice and in some cases, special discounts only available at the show. Additional show highlights include the Hurricane Aid Brigade, featuring the latest hurricane related products and services from more than 20 businesses; and the New Product Showcase, spotlighting innovative products.

Ticket prices are $8 for adults, $3.50 for children 6-12, and FREE for those 5 and younger. On Friday only, seniors 65 and older pay a special discounted rate of $6. Parking is free. To commemorate Presidents Day Weekend, a special Sunday Salute will allow persons with Military I.D. to buy one ticket and get one free (SUNDAY ONLY; not valid with any other discount). All online ticket purchasers are automatically entered to win a $1000 shopping spree at the show. For a complete schedule of speakers and other show highlights, visit the Web site www.FloridaHomeShows.com or call 888-254-0882.
