Registration and briefings will begin at 8 a.m. and children will receive their pilot assignment. Pre-registration is recommended. Those interested in flying should call (772) 489-7776.
Airport Day at the St. Lucie County International Airport, 3000 Curtis King Blvd., Fort Pierce, will feature a variety of activities including informational displays from pilots and businesses at the airport to the dedication of the new Aviation History Wall.
The national EAA Young Eagles program was launched in 1992 to give interested young people an opportunity to go flying in a general aviation airplane. These flights are offered free of charge through the generosity of EAA member volunteers. Since 1992, more than 1.33 million Young Eagles have enjoyed a flight through this international program. Young Eagles have been registered in more than 90 different countries and have been flown by nearly 40,000 volunteer pilots.
