Spiritual Leader from Trinidad Returns
Contributed by: Doreen Poreba, The PR Czar® Inc. on 10/31/2006

The Treasure Coast Chapter of Blue Star will host a series of events led by its founder, Sri Vasudeva, who will travel from Trinidad to make several appearances on the Treasure Coast from November 10-13. When he spoke last year in Stuart, more than 200 people attended. All events are free and open to the public and are vegetarian and non-alcoholic. Love offerings will be accepted. Blue Star is a non-profit, non-sectarian organization dedicated to the development of human potential. All of Blue Star's programs are focused on self-empowerment, total well-being and community service.

The activities will begin in the home of Mary Dawson, 6014 SW Mapp Road in Palm City, at 7 p.m. on Nov. 10 with a vegetarian pot luck reception and satsang, known in the Indian tradition as a reflective or meditative gathering. Guests are asked to bring a vegetarian dish to share and a comfortable chair or mat. Sri Vasudeva will lead the group in a chant and meditation.

On Saturday, Nov. 11, from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m., Blue Star will host a workshop at the Unity Church of Martin County in Stuart. Sri Vasudeva will teach "The Mind-Body-Spirit Connection."

Saturday evening from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m., there will be another vegetarian pot luck reception and satsang at Maria Sperando's home at 4606 Red Bay Circle in Jensen Beach. Please bring a vegetarian dish.

On Sunday, Nov. 12, in Ft. Pierce at 11 a.m. at the Unity Church, Sri Vasudeva will lead a meditation during the regular service. He will conduct a workshop there from 12:30 p.m. until 2 p.m. At 3 p.m. at the Unity Church in Stuart, Sri Vasudeva will conduct a workshop. The topics for both workshops will be "Finding Peace & Healing in a Chaotic World." A vegetarian potluck reception will follow the Stuart workshop. Please bring a vegetarian dish.

Sri Vasudeva is a visionary leader who combines ancient wisdom with modern thinking. For many he is a personal guide, coach and counselor. He is also an international speaker and workshop facilitator. In addition to being the founder and director of Blue Star International, Vasudeva has published internationally in the fields of spirituality, management and systemic psychotherapy. His own publications include You are the Light, Seek God Within, Self as Leader and Reflections on the Inner Light. Today, Blue Star has centers in North America, Europe and the Caribbean.

At the age of 21, Vasudeva set out on an intense search for wisdom beyond academic knowledge. The focus was an understanding of self that would bring a harmonious life through mental and emotional mastery. This led him on a journey of self-discovery and a profound inner awakening at the age of 24 years in 1978. His transformative experiences brought him back into the academic and professional worlds as a teacher, engineer and manager, but with a new awareness. His goal was now to serve with love and not for self-gain and to work towards creating better communities.

In1993, Vasudeva decided to commit full-time to fostering transformation in individuals to better their lives, their communities and the world. To this end he created Blue Star, a non-profit organization dedicated to holistic human development and community service. Since the founding of the Blue Star Center in Trinidad, there have been numerous invitations to travel internationally. His powerful vision and presence continue to inspire people from every walk of life and from different parts of the globe. His vision encompasses all areas of human activity and he continues to make significant contributions in the fields of management, leadership, education, environmental awareness, wellness, counseling and therapy and community outreach. These contributions have resulted in transformative centers being created on two continents.

Starting after Thanksgiving, the Treasure Coast Blue Star Chapter will meet every other Thursday from 7 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. at the Unity Church of Stuart. For more information, call co-founder Maria Sperando at 772-485-4772. Or visit the Web site, www.blue-star.org. The main center or "ashram" is located at Tobago Bay, Trinidad. Other centers are in England, France, Holland, Ireland, Jamaica, South Florida, New York, Ottawa, Romania, Toronto, Poland and Hungary.
