Try Saying "Good Morning" as you really meant it

Then find someone to praise for doing a good job - store clerk, waitress, bus driver, anyone.

Show respect for an older person.

Be patient with someone who doesn't understand as quickly as you do.

Call or write someone having a difficult time. Say you know it's rough, but you have faith in them.

Look pleasant.

Do your job a little better. Maybe you will get some praise, but you will certainly get more satisfaction.

Help somone - a cripple get out of a car or cross a street, a young man or woman looking for a job (whether you can give it or not, give them some hope) or an elder person who is discouraged.

Contribute to some church or charity - money if you can, time if you can't.

It just could be that this sort of understanding is what this country needs right now.
