Over four years ago, two friends decided to start a cooking club whereby they and others could "meet, cook and eat". They invited two others to join and on Monday, March 3rd, the Honey Buns cooked their 50th meal. "We get together at each member's house monthly and cook things that are more work than any of us want to do alone" stated Diane Rexroad, a founding member of the club. We plan our main courses for a year in advance and finalize the next month's menu at the current month's get together. We have had some great successes and some really unusual main courses. One meal took so much time and we were so hungry, we ate dessert while the main course was still in the oven.
For our anniversary meal we looked back through our recipes from the past and picked out our favorites-some recipes get made by us over and over and some never see the light of day again. But, it is fun; hit or miss, we laugh!
Why not try it? Get some friends together, as many as are comfortable for your kitchens, and give it a shot. Some day, you too, could be celebrating your 50th meal.

Wonderful story Pat. The cooking club sounds like a wonderful experience.
