On Saturday, November 18, at Tropical Ranch Botanical Gardens Special Lecture Series, Rosemary Caspary (Martin County Master Gardener and Registered Dietitian) answered this question for approximately 35 people. All who were there learned how to plant, grow and harvest herbs and the difference between herbs and spices. Rosemary provided recipes for,and samples of, basil cookies, of all things, and a type of pesto pasta. The cookies were delicious.
A Door prizes of a basket of herbs ready for planting was claimed by John & Jill Robbins; Mary Bean was presented with a TRBG Garden Gift Certificate and Mary's friend, Jan Fogt was fortunate enough to walk away with the sample pottedgarden of herbs prepared by Rosemary during the lecture.
Tropical Ranch Botanical Gardens now has its own Tropical Herb and Spice Garden which you will be able to visit December 9th and 10th when we have our next very special Christmas Plant Sale. Don't forget to mark your calander with this date.
