Best Tea for Antioxidants? Here's the Scoop!
Contributed by: Sherrie TJ on 7/2/2008

Like many of us you are concerned about your health, nutrition, physical and spiritual well being. However, it can seem so daunting to keep up with it all. Sometimes we feel that trying to make healthier choices is just too much hard work. How do we find the time for relaxation or connecting with ourselves/loved ones? Everyone's talking about new fad ways to be healthy. How do we sort through it all?

Let's take a simple example of tea. So much research is going on about the health benefits of tea. Some people swear by green tea, while others say that white tea has even more anti-oxidants, so therefore it's better for your health. Well, the English have known for centuries that ANY tea makes everything better. All they need to know is that a good "cuppa" makes the world seem more manageable. Brits have been conditioned over years to find solace in tea. If one has broken up with a partner, had a bereavement, or even just a lousy day...putting the kettle on and offering that person a cup of tea is the very first thing a proper Brit does in triaging the crisis.

Here's the secret truth: ALL TEA IS GOOD FOR YOU. THEY ALL HAVE ANTIOXIDANTS AND HEALTH BENEFITS.

Keeping that secret in mind, Brits put the kettle on first, but it's only the first part of the secret. The second part of the secret is that it's the beginning of "the ritual." The ritual of preparing and serving tea is very calming and soothing. When one drinks tea, there is a cessation of other activity combined with the focus of brewing a proper cup of tea. By the time the tea is brewed, one's thoughts have already slowed down before s/he has even taken the first sip.

Here at King Charles Tea Shop and Bakery in Stuart, they give you the finest British tradition of having tea served the proper way. They keep it simple. There's no need to worry about which tea is better for you or which tea you "should have" because they are all good for your health, so just enjoy the flavor you like. Tea doesn't need to taste medicinal for it to be good for you. We have over 35 flavors of tea and we will serve you in a relaxing and calming environment. No you don't need to worry about knowing how to select, make or serve the perfect pot, becausethey do it all for you.

So when you are looking for a reprieve from the hectic world and need to make your world more manageable, come and have a pot of tea at King Charles.

My family and I have been going to King Charles for over a year now and with the new owners it's been a huge improvement on the atmosphere and most of all the cooking. There are so many teas to choose from we always get something different each time to try.
