Martha Bennett, candidate for Martin County Commission, District 3, accompanied nearly 30 enthusiastic Democrats in the December 7 Soroptimist Christmas parade. A managed growth candidate, Bennett says, "Local issues are non-partisan. In order to protect our quality of life, it's time for a change in MartinCounty."

In the parade, Democrats led off with a sign, "We Can't Wait 'Til '08." Following the walkers was a float filled with Democrats in Santa hats shouting "Merry Christmas" and "Happy Holidays" -- and even a dancing Democratic donkey!

The float was sponsored by the Martin County Democratic Women's Club and the Martin County Democratic Club. The Democratic Women's Club meets every second Saturday at 10 am at the Morgade Library.
