Karma guides “A True Christmas Gift” home.

Once again this year Big Dog Comics let the spirit of Christmas guide our hand in putting together over $2,500 worth of items in a Cornucopia of Holiday goodies we call "A True Christmas Gift". Entry was free for the first ticket, and only $2 for each additional chance which, thanks to the generosity of our friends and customers, raised $150 all going to the Children's Miracle Network to help in the life of a child

"We were delighted when last year's winner Robert Young told us how he shared his True Christmas Gift with others and brought smiles and happiness too many young faces" said Captain Joel, owner of Big Dog Comics. "When Robert collected the prize we were not sure we could ever see a happier person or, in the case of Robert's father, a bigger kid. Turns out we only had to wait a year."

"Just when you think life has got you by the shorthairs and you're ready to throw in the towel, karma has a funny way of making you have faith again. I've never won anything before, and certainly did not expect to with something like this." These were the words of Bill Cassanelli" when Captain Joel informed him he was the winner of "A True Christmas Gift 2007".

Bill went on to explain how he, his wife and three kids were working with limited funds for gifts this year. "I only got the kids a few things each and it looked like the Mrs. and I was on Santa's "Bad List" would not be receiving any presents. It looks like it's going to be a good Christmas this year, after all."

We knew we had accomplished the goal of "A True Christmas Gift" when Bill commented "Dude, I think you just made my freaking year."

We wish one and all Happy Holidays and a bountiful New Year from Capt Joel, his Family and the Dog Pound.
