One of the participants in the was Operation Christmas Child was one of the participating organizations at the recent St Lucie County Health and Information Expo. This project run by a Samaritan's Purse, helps send gifts to children throughout the world at Christmas. As Franklin Graham the President of Samaritans purse stats in his brochures,
'There are millions of boys and girls around the world living in difficult circumstances and are in desperate need of hope."
That is what Operation Christmas Child provides, a little bit of hope to children whether in Calcutta or Johannesburg, it lets the children know that they are loved. Now don't get scared by thinking this is another group asking for gifts. Actually this group was started in 1993, and they have a simple idea. To let the children in these situations know that they are loved and cared for.
The gifts are simple but mean the world to a child that has nothing. Simply by filling a shoe box with school supplies, hygiene products and maybe small gifts they can be delivered to a child that may never know what Christmas is.
OCC usually works with groups, like churches as it passes on the 'GOOD NEWS of the Lord' with the presents, but any one can get involved in this heartwarming and joyful project.
