Seacoast Salutes Edna Prescott on 103rd Birthday

On July 19, 2008, Mrs. Edna Prescott of Stuart, Florida celebrated her 103rd birthday. In honor of the special occasion, Seacoast National Bank held a special luncheon to celebrate her longevity and her loyalty as the bank's oldest customer.

Mrs. Prescott first moved to Stuart from Canada in 1947, where she and her late husband owned the Hazelwood Lodge - a quaint fishing and hunting destination. After settling into life on the Treasure Coast, she visited her local community bank and opened an account with Dennis S. Hudson Sr. at Fist National Bank (now known as Seacoast National Bank). The year was 1949. A few years later she became neighbors with the Hudson family on Sewell's Point where she watched the Hudson family grow and witnessed the family banking tradition flourish under the guidance of three generations.

Although Mrs. Prescott is modest about her role in the community, she has been an active member of the Women's Club since 1956 and continues to enjoy club activities as an honorary member. Additionally, she was a member of the Garden Club of Stuart where she still maintains an honorary membership, and with the Audubon Society, Conservation Alliance and River League.

"I opened my first account with the bank nearly 60 years ago. In those days Dennis Hudson Sr. sat at a big desk in the middle of the office on Osceola Street and greeted everyone who came into the bank," recounted Mrs. Prescott. "He'd be surprised to see the businesses that are on that corner now."

The operating arm of Seacoast Banking Corporation of Florida (NASDAQ: SBCF) Seacoast National Bank has 43 offices in Florida and approximately $2.4 billion in assets, and is one of the largest independent banks headquartered in Florida.
