It was approxiatemly around 4 P.M. when local Stuart resident Frank Hofer noticed a funnel cloud developing right out side his dining room window," It was a awesome sight to see". I was entertaining guess when I noticed the darkened sky outside my window looked like a funnel was begining to twirl down from the sky.I quickly grabbed my cell phone that had video recording on it and me and friend went out side together to check out this awesome force of nature. I was actually quite amuzed with the fact that I felt like I was reporting the weather while explaining what was happening when this weather event was going on. Some of the other residences here where I live at willoughby cove were walking their dogs while I was filming. They confirmed too that it was definately a funnel cloud that we can see ,that it started to form into something on the opposite side of the lake were I live.
Later on that evening I played back the footage I video camcord on my cellphone. It was pretty cool that my little Motorolla phone could video this storm event that had occurred. I thought to myself why not email this footage to channel 5 news ,I immediately called them and they directed on how to go about emailing the funnel cloud video over to them. First I had to buy a memory card and transfer the video on to it. Then after that I down loaded it onto the computer and emailed it over to Newstips@wptv.com, pretty cool it was that simple first time I have ever done that. I was hoping to see it on channel 5 news that evening yet I was out for the count. The next day I was chatting with a man in downtown Stuart. Showing him the video on my cellphone, and sure enough he was one the people that was watching me film this funnel cloud on channel 5 news".I'm amazed they actually had played it". Well to everyone that has been noticing this wicked weather we've been having here on the treasure coast , stay safe on the roads and watch out for lightning strikes...
