Chelsea Castellano wins Violet Richardson Award

Chelsea Castellano is the recipient of the 2009 Violet Richardson Award sponsored by Soroptimist International of Stuart. Chelsea was chosen by Big Brothers Big Sisters as their Ambassador of 2008 where she logged many volunteer hours, developed a calendar of events and helped to organize their activities. She also volunteered for five other organizations in the past three years. The Violet Richardson Award honors a young woman (14-17 years) who engages in volunteer activities that make the community a better place. Both Chelsea and Big Brothers Big Sisters will each be awarded $1,000 and honored as part of Soroptimist's annual community service scholarships and grants awards event in May.
