STUART, FLA.(July 2, 2008) - Ken Ringe, president of Bayview Construction Corporation, recently returned home from Washington, D.C., where he participated in the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) spring board meeting and lobbied legislators to improve the economy by approving the housing stimulus package and resolving the mortgage crisis.

Ringe, a trustee of the NAHB Commercial Builders Council, is actively supporting legislation that would revive the economy by providing a temporary tax credit for home buyers. The bill has already been approved by the House and is currently under consideration in the Senate.

"Housing plays a significant role in the economy, locally and nationally," said Ringe. "Passage of this bill will give a much needed boost to an ailing economy. It will allow more people to realize the American dream of owning a house, and save and create many jobs."

During his visit, Ringe joined with colleagues to meet with Senator Bill Nelson (D-FL), to express support of the housing stimulus package and discuss ways to bring an end to the mortgage crisis.

Ringe, a state certified general contractor since 1984, is an active member of the construction industry and serves as chairman of the Martin County Construction Industry Licensing Board. He is a director of the FHBA, and is the immediate past chairman, former board member and area vice president of the organization. Ringe is a director of the NAHB and a member and past president of the Treasure Coast Builders Association.
